REPORT ON EMIGRATION.
REQUEST TO GOVERNAIENT.
An inquiry whether the Government had received a report from the British Government on the subject of emigration was made by Mr F. Jones in the House of Representatives. Mr Jones said that if a report had l>een received it should be made public, together with any reply that might have been sent. He reminded the House of Mr Stanley Baldwin’s statement, made in the House of Commons on Jul.y 31 last, that considerable attention had recently been devoted to the future policy regarding emigration, and that the British Government was still awaiting the views of some of the overseas Governments concerned on the recent report of the inter departmental committee.
