TOWN BOARD MEETING. (From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Sept. 12. Tho monthly mooting of the Town Board was held on Thursday evening. Mr J. E. Walker was in the chair, and thero were also present: Messrs J. J, Mansell, F. A. Holland, C. C. Price and A. W. Amon. Leavo of absence was granted txe Messrs C. 11. Edwards and D. A. Lundy. Foreman's report:—Foreman S. Howard reported as follows lor work done during the month ending September 12: Metalling has been clone on Lower High Street roadway, Church street footpath, and Cemetery road. Metal has been screened in pit and big stones carted out. Gutters have been cleaned in Bridge, High and Daniel streets, and Bridge street has been patched with lay-kold. A culvert has been put in in Upper Bridge street. Grass has been mown on tho Domain, and on paths at the cemetery. Sexton’s duties have been carried out. Young trees on tho Domain have been staked. , Warning to golfers.—lt was reported that golfers using the Domain for . practice had neglected to pick up golf halls, with the result that the mower has picked up several. In past years damage amounting to £2O has boon done to the mower in this way and it was resolved to prohibit golf practice on the Domain, and to erect signs to that effect. Hammond Street. —Messrs Walker, Amon and Mansell were appointed a sub-eom-inittco to arrange for tho street to be graded so that storm-water would not Ho about. , TT Transfer of property from Mm. Homes to E. Homes was approved. The Wanganui Free Ambulance reported on operations for tho six months ending July 31, 1935, as follows February, 57 cases, 1053 miles travelled; March, 64 cases 1155 miles; April, 45 cases, 491 miles’; May, 63 cases, 836 miles; June W cases, 894 miles; July, 108 cases, T 549 miles.—Totals: 406 cases, 5982 miles travelled Fourteen cases have boon taken from Bulls’ to hospital, and volunteer attendants have served over ICOO hours. Finance.—Collections for the month were shown as follow: —Rents, £24 8s; rates, £93 14s Id; heavy traffic licenses, £6l 8s 3d; cemetery, £5 10s; library rents, £2; library subscriptions, 16s; domain, 19s. Total : £IBB 15s 4d. Accounts were passed for payment under the following headings : District fund, £2ll Is 9d; library, £3 ss. Clifton Library. —Mr F. A. Holland, chairman of tho Library Committee, presented a report from the librarian of the working of the library during tho year ending Juno 30, 1935, which stated that the number of subscribers had averaged 45, and 93 new books had been added, including 20 which wore donated by Mrs A. G. Bennett, of Manaia; 7by Mrs F. A. Holland; and the rest- had been purchased. A parcel ot books was sent to Makowhai camp, Mr Ho - land said that tho thanks of the board were due to donors of books, and to the Library Coinmitteo, and it was resolved to send letter of thanks to the ladies who had forwarded books. ■ Works Committee. —Messrs Mansell, Price and Amon were appointed for the ensuing month.

VALEDICTORY. Mr Leslie Hillier, who loft Bulls this week on promotion to Wellington, was farewellod by the staff of the local post office, and presented with a token of their regard. Mr N. 11.
