KIWITEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) KIYVITEA Sept. 12. A meeting of the ladies of the district was. held in the local hall on Tuesday afternoon to arrange for a kitchen tea for Miss Brenda Banks, in view of her approaching marriage. It will be held later in the month.
A general meeting was held in the Ball on Wednesday night, when it was resolved to hold a dance next month in aid of the hall funds. It was decided to engage an orchestra from Palmerston North, the date to be announced later.
Visitors from Kiwitca to Fcilding oil Monday night on the occasion of the Spanish village ball were:—Mr and Mrs L. and Miss M. Cranton, Mr and Mrs C. Williams, Mrs T. E. and Mr S. Craino. Miss M. Livingstone, Mrs K. W. Clapham. Mr S. Shand, and Mr D. Jansen.
Cold wintry weather has prevailed here. Heavy rains, accompanied by cold southerly and easterly winds, have made conditions very unpleasant, and there is a decided falling oil in the milk and cream yields. The many friends of Mr 11. Graham will regret to hear that ho is still ill in the Palmerston North Hospital. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery. Miss Bertha Cranston has been the guest of Mr and Mrs J. Cranston, at To Awa. Mr D. H. Ivilgour has returned from Hamilton, where ho attended the Jersey national show and sale.
