TIRITEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TIRITEA, Sept. 13. The fortnightly euchre parties arc near ing an cud; in all probably there will only be two more. The winners at \\ day’s party were Mrs Reilly (ladies) and Mr Gudopp (men). Suuper was served by the ladies present. ! Although Miss Joan Andrews was on holi day at Foxton Beach, she celebrated her birthday by having a jolly party. A little concert was contributed by a number ol young people: K&rlc anti John Andrews (songs), Rosa Gibbs and Jimmie Jamison (elocutionary items), a dance by Rosa Gibbs and a playetto by Jimmie Jamison and Earle and John Andrews. Those items were enjoyed by all present. During supper, Miss Andrews cut her beautiful birthday cake, Mr Jamison toasting the health of the guest of honour. A huge bonfire and all kinds of fireworks helped the time to pass away all too quickly. Among those present were: Mr and Mrs Andrews, Mi and Mrs B. Kilsbv, Mr and Mrs Jamison. Mi- and Mrs Fitzgerald, Misses J. Andrews and R Gibbs and Messrs R., M. and C. Andrews, also Earle and John Andrews and Jimmie Jamison. Mrs 11. Honoic, accompanied by hot small soil Bruce, has returned to her home in Ohau after being the guest of Mi and Mrs R. D. llaseldcn. A number of young people spent tlu school holidays with relatives and friends in the Valley and returned to their homes at the end of the week ready to commenci their third term at school. Mr Walter Greer left on Wednesday by car for Taitinarunui, where he has accepted a position. Mrs B. Kilsby, Mrs l 1 • N. Andrews, Mrs P. Jamison and Joan, Ear: and John Andrews, also Jimmie Jamison, have all returned heme from Foxton. i Beach where they spent the school holidays. I Mrs Harris, of Sandon, is staying with hoi, daughter, Mrs A. Honore, “Merry Crook.”
