SLUGGISH BOARD. A meeting of the Sluggish lliyer Drainage Board was held oil Ihursday when All’ F. J. Foster presided. Others present were Alessrs At. J. R.V a r ll > C. Print, A. N. Moreom and W. H. Gimblett. , , . The board gave the chairman authority to wait on the Alanawatu County Council -in reference to the cutting of noxious weeds on Hie opposite side of the road to the Alain Dr ain. Air Foster expressed the opinion that it was useless for the board cutting tli noxious weeds on the boards side o: the road if the council did not do HfieWl Mr Moreom moved, and Air Ryan seconded that the chairman join the deputation to the Government m support of the installation ot a spillway m the Alanawatu River at Hartley s bend, provided the wo.k was mideitaken as a national scheme.
