HOKOWHITU SCHOOL.
GALA DAY PROPOSED. At a largely attended meeting of the combined committees of the Hokowhitu School, held last evening, it was decided' to hold the animal gala day early in December. Preliminary arrangements were to be made immediately for extensive decorations, children’s procession, sports, sideshows and stalls, and for that purpose the following committees were set up:—Stalls committee, Alessvs Tucker and Cox; decorations, Messrs Burns and Collier: procession and decorated vehicles, Airs K. AV. Jones and Airs Melville; tug-of-war and snorts, Alessrs Burns, Huntington and Johnson; side shows and amusements. Alessrs Jones, Fleck, and Collier. The intention is to organise a gala day on a large scale and the preliminary arrangements are to be made with this end in view, Air S. F. Collier being appointed the general organiser.
