RUGBY FOOTBALL.

WANGANUI VERSUS MANAWATU. The Manawatu representatives will be taking the field for the ninth occasion this season when they file out in opposition to Wanganui at Johnston Park, Feilding, to-morrow. Feilding enthusiasts are being favoured in that they were able to witness the interclub final last Saturday, and now will witness a representative fixture on the same area. Some high scoring games have resulted at the meetings between the two neighbouring unions, and to-morrow’s fixture promises to be full of interest. The subsidiary series will be continued in tho senior grade, Feilding Old Boys and Feilding meeting as a curtain-raiser to the representative game; Old Boys and St. Patrick’s will meet at the Showgrounds, and Woodville will be at home to the junior grade Old Boys and United will meet in the final on the oval at 1.30 p.m. Old Boys.—Senior: Betteridge, Bradley, Olliver, Iladfield, Turnbull, Plank, Evans, Lovelock, Louisson, Kingsbeer, O’Dea, Cutler, Wilson, Yortt, Thomas. The team which will represent Wan ganui will ho as under:—Full-back Hekenui; three-quarters, M. Dickie, Campbell, Pene; five-eighths, Chase (2), Jones (1); half-back, Welsh; back row, Steere, Mclntyre, James; locks, Firmin, Davidson; front row, Thom son, Poppe, Stewart. Reserves: MeClenaghan, Mere Mere. Although But lock-Douglas is not available, the visitors’ ranks include the All Black Steere, and the Maori All Black. Chase. Campbell and Mclntyre both figured in the North Island trials for the All Blacks.—“ Cross Bar.” The Manawatu team will leave the Post Office at 1.45 p.m. to-morrow for Feilding.

HOROWHENUA UNION. The management committee of the Horowhenua Rugby Union meet oh Tuesday at Levin, Father Riordan presiding. The following referees were appointed to control Saturday’s games:— Horowhenua juniors v. Wellington, at Otaki, Mr W. Neville; Hui Mai v. Otaki, at Levin (final of Nash Cup competition), Mr H. Hemi. The secretary advised that the following juniors had been selected to represent Horowhenua: —Backs : Waite, Hudson, Higgott, Carmout, Morgan and Jenkins (2). Forwards: Russell, Vertongen, Devonshire, Littler, Woods, Street, Bills and Robinson. Reserves: Backs: Evans and Walls; forwards, Death and Smith. Players will assemble at the Post Offices in their towns as under:—Foxton 12.30 p.m., Shannon 1 pm. and Levin 1.30 p.m. Mr Richards suggested that prior to the senior representative match with Wellington, the team selected for Horowhenua should play a match against tlie next best team in the union. If arrangements can be made, it was decided, the suggestion should be adopted.
