TE AWE AWE TROOP
There was an excellent attendance of the Te Awe Awe Troop Committee at the Scout Hall last evening. MiMills presided and also present were Mesdames Whyte, Mills, AVollerinan, Drake, Berry, Vining, Alsop, Houghton, A. C. M. Bennett, Messrs McRae, Gush, A.-S.-M. Looser and the secretary. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs Nicholson, Miss Revere, Colonel J. H. M liyte and Mr Clayton. A vote of sympathy was passed with Scout R. Wilson in the death of his father, and to Mr and Mrs Sapwell in the sad loss of thenson Norman, a memlier of the Cub pack. The committee stood for a minute in silence as a mark of respect. Through pressure of other duties, Miss Holmes (cub mistress) lias found it necessary to apply for six months’ leave of alwence. Miss Revere was appointed lo the position. Reports from cub and scoutmasters show the attendance of the troop and pack to bo very well maintained, and practices for the Daunevirke rally were being carried out with enthusiasm. As a mark of appreciation for being allowed the use of College Street School on. past occasions, the Te Awe Awe Troop Committee presented to the headmaster (Mr Swinbourn) an enlarged photograph of the school, and a letter was received from the committee expressing thanks for the gift. The cub parade has been altered to Wednesday at 4.45 p.m. During the month a yisit from Sister Elliott was much appreciated by the pack. Visiting committees for the month are to be:—Cubs, Mrs Houghton and Mrs Wollerman; scouts, Colonel Whyte and Mr Mills. Accounts amounting to £1 4s were passed for payment. During the evening the competition was drawn, the winner being Mr Vivian, book P, number 15.
