SOUTH AUSTRALIA WINS. ADELAIDE, Aug. 20. The Australian golf championship meeting was continued to-daj. In the amateur inter-State match between New South Wales and Victoria at Seaton, New South Wales won by six matches to one. South Australia beat New South Wales in an inter-State professionals’ contest by 3 matches to 2. The open champion, W. Bolger, was beaten by F. McMahon (South Australia), 1 up. It was a magnificent match. Bolger did a 71 yesterday and a 70 to-day, which is three better than par. South Australia then heat Victoria by three matches to two. McMahon beat Nnismith, 4 and 3. South Australia thus wins the Vicars Shield. In the inter-State amateur contest South Australia beat New South Wales by 4 to 3 matches. The former thus won the amateur as well as tlie professional competition.
