ASHHURST.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) , ASHHURST, July 18. The Ashhurst Hall Committee held another successful euchre and dance on Wednesday night, there being a record attendance. Great interest is being maintained in the card tournament, for- which there is an aggregate prize at the end of the series. The finals for the evening were closely contested, Airs Sadgrove and Airs Alorns winning the ladies’ section, and Messrs J. Smith and E. Morris the men’s. At t'he conclusion of play supper was served by tho ladies’ oemmitee, after which dancing was carried on till after midnight. Tho music was supplied by Airs Hewitt’, A'liss Harris playing an extra. Air T. Baton was AI.C. ; A table tennis tournament was held by the local club on Alonday night, when an enjoyable- time was »pent. The ladies’ prize' was won by Aliss S. Road, while Mr Al; Read carried off tho men’s trophy. Supper was served at the close of play.
