NATIONALITY REGAINED.
WOMAN’S LEGAL BATTLE. A British Government Gazette announces that Winifred Janies, wellknown novelist ,travel writer and journalist, has been granted a British naturalisation certificate. The daughter of an English clergyman, Miss James was born in Victoria. She became an American citizen when she married Mr Henry de Jan, of Louisiana United States, in 1913. Afterward she went to England and eight years ago began the legal fight, which she has just won, to regain her British nationality.
