REORGANISATION PLAN. YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS. WELLINGTON, July 19. Resolutions agreed to by a special reorganisation committee with a view to the reorganisation of the work of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union were discussed and adopted by the annual conference of tlie union yesterday. The delegates approved the grouping of provinces as suggested by Hie president. Air W. J. Poison, ALP., in the proposals lie placed before the conference on the opening day. Ibis provides for grouping into ten groups. The remaining resolutions agreed to by the committee and adopted by the conference were: That the Dominion executive consist of a president, two vice-presidents (one South Island and one North Island), a treasurer, and one delegate per group. That the Dominion executive be empowered to appoint an emergency committee from its number, consisting of Hie president and five members with power to carry on between executive committee meetings. That representation at the Dominion conference be the liewlv-elected executive plus provincial presidents ex officio, and further representation as follows:—Plus one delegate where membership exceeds 250, and is under 750, and plus a further delegate for every complete 500 members thereafter. That the matter of (he appointment of a Dominion secretary and his salary lie left entirely in the hands of the following small committee, with power to make the appointment:— Alessrs W. J. Poison. AY. AV. Mulholland, H. 0. Alellsop and H. Alorrison. The following were elected vicepresidents:— Mr H. O. Alellsop (Auckland) Air AY. AY. Alulbolland (Canterbury) and Air E. H. Murney (Otago). . North Island representatives elected to the Advisory Committee were Alessrs C. C. Jackson (AYairarapa). AV. Morrison (Wanganui), and R. H. Fcisst (Auckland). The conference carried an Auckland remit that the Transport Act should he amended by the discontinuance of the licensing of goods services in rural districts.
