RANGITIKEI.
MAHTON, July 18. Yesterday afternoon over 50 residents of Marton availed themselves of the opportunity offered by the Borough Council of inspecting the reservoir. The Mayor (Mr 1C Purnell) explained the water scheme to the party, many members of which had not seen the waterworks before. It was a gloriously fine clay and the reservoir made a very impressiv© sight. Water was running over tlie spillway, indicating that there was 25ft. of water, or 50,000,000 gallons, available. Mr E. J. 'Wilde, “Mirlield,” left last night for a visit to Auckland. Mrs Heaton, of Cubbabballn Street, is on holiday with her parents at Geraldine.
