THE WAIRAU SEAT
FIVE CANDIDATES. Per Press Association. BLENHEIM, July 17. Air Malcolm McKenzie, who has just retired from the Blenheim Mayoralty alter a lengthy term of office, has consented to contest the AVairau seat in the interests of the Democrat Party. This brings the field up to five candidates, as follow:—Messrs E. E. Healy (Government), E. Meecham (Labour), J. A. Reilly (Independent), Al. AV. Grace (Independent) and McKenzie (Democrat). Air McKenzie has completed 18 years’ service on the Blenheim Borough Council, during ten of which he was Mayor, never being opposed at the elections. He is also associated with many other public bodies and is the president of the Marlborough Rugby Union. ■
