ROAD TRANSPORT

RESERVED DECISIONS. The sitting of the No. 6 Transport Authority at Palmerston North was concluded yesterday. The application having been adjourned tor hearing to-day from Saturday, the Standard Service Station (Foxton) requested a renewal of its present license. On Saturday Mr S. A. Goldingham appeared in support of the application. The schedule showed the name of H. Hart associated with the name of. the business. Mr Goldingham asked that that be deleted. Today the application was granted in the name of H. Hart, the Authority declining to make the change requested. Deihl Bros. (Rangiwahia) were granted a renewal of their current license. W. A. Davison (Rongotea) was granted a renewal of his current area license, the counties in which he is allowed to operate being Manawatu, Oroua, Kairanga and a portion of the Rangitikei County. Reserved decision was given in the case of D. H. Thompson (Rongotea), who was granted a renewal of his current license, but who was refused the right to carry fat lambs to Wanganui. The reserved decision relating to R. F. Churcher (Apiti) granted him a renewal of his current license, permission to increase his maximum load from three to four tons, an extension to run to Palmerston North instead of to Feilding only, and the right to deviate five miles from his route; but he was refused permission to run to Longburn. It was announced that a decision would be given when the Authority sat in Wanganui in the case in which the Highways Transport Coy., who applied for an additional vehicle authority for the Palmerston North-Pahiatua route, the right to deviate for petrol delivery purposes to Martinborougn and the taking over of a license for the WanganuiPalmerston North route.
