MILLS FOR SOUTHLAND. Per Press Association. , INVERCARGILL, June 24. It was stated by a director of the company to-day that the textile nulls to be established in Southland with the assistance of English capital would be among the largest of their kind in the world and would employ hundreds of operatives. The manufacture of every class of hessian sacking and woolpack from New Zealand fibre was to he engaged in to supply porition of the Australian and New Zealand market, estimated to be worth £4,000,000 a year.
