JAPANESE SQUADRON.
FAREWELL MESSAGES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 24. Keen appreciation of New Zealand’s hospitality has been expressed to the Government by Rear-Admiral K. Nakamura, of the Japanese naval squadron, who. has sent the following telegram to the acting-Prime Minister (Hon. E. A. Ransom) :—“Please accept our hearty thanks for your warm hospitality and the enthusiastic welcome shown us during our visit to New Zealand. Wishing every happiness to you and prosperity to tile Dominion.—Rear-Admiral Nakamura.” . . , , , . The acting-Prime Minister telegraphed the following reply:—“The Government of New Zealand are pleased to receive your telegram and to know that the arrangements made for your reception and His Imperial Japanese Majesty’s ships Asnma and Yakumo at Wellington and Auckland were appreciated by you. The Government also heartily reciprocate your good wishes.— E. A. Ransom.”
