RANGITIKEI.
DIARTON, March 13. The annual general meeting of the Marton junior branch of the Women’s Divis.on of the Farmers’ Union was held yesterday, Dliss Margaret Dlarshall being in the chair. The report stated that the membership had increased to 84 and there was a credit in the ba.nk account of £4 13s 3d. The officers appointed were as follow: President, Dliss M. Heighten; secretary and treasurer, Dliss O. Harris; committee, Dlisses R. Arkwright, N. Cameron, B. Cockran, C. Gibson, G. Hawkins, E. Dloore, J. Willis, D. Wing. A sponge cake competition was won by Miss M. Willis, and a vote of thanks was accorded Dliss Flower, who judged the entries. Dliss Coralie Batten, who formerly lived in Marton, was a visitor to the town yesterday prior to leaving for the Old Country. Dliss Batten was for several years in charge of the dispensary of the DVnnganui Hospital, and is enjoying a year’s furlough, the greater' part of which will be spent in England. Whilst there, Miss Batten intends furthering her study in chemistry. Mr and Dlrs W. F. Stevens have returned to Marton from a visit to the East Coast.
