BILL IN THE LORDS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 12. The second reading took place in the House of Lords to-day of a Bill to preserve the foundations of St. Paul’s Cathedral by controlling excavations for building within a prescribed area. Speaking in support of the measure, the Archbishop of Canterbury said that inquiries made some years ago, when anxiety was first felt with regard to the stability of the cathedral, revealed that the greatest danger lay in a possible weakening of its foundations.
