REPAIRS TO CABLE.
SPLICING AT SEA. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 13. The repairs to the North IslandSouth Island telephone cable are expected to be completed early to morrow morning. The Janie Seddon left at 6» a.m. to-day with the new section to replace that in which the break occurred. The splicing of the new cable to the buoyed seaward end of the original one was completed shortly after midday. Atter tenting the splice, the landward end was picked up.
