Best known as Ralph Connor, the novelist, Rev. Charles W. Gordon, D.D., will .arrive Jit Auckland by tlie Aorangi from Vancouver next Sunday. The Primo Minister, Mr Ramsay MacDoiuikl, is recovering from Ins indisposition, but is still unable to go out or attend the House of Commons, a British Official Wireless message states.
Mr F. J. Adeanc, senior employment officer of the Soldiers’ Civil Reestablishment League, Wellington, is at present on a visit to Palmerston North. The work of the league has developed into a tremendous organisation, having factories and retail shops in various centres throughout the Dominion, wherein 11,700 returned men are given employment. Mr Paul P. Harris, of Chicago, president emeritus of Rotary International. a position he holds by virtue of his having been the founder of the movement, is due to arrive at Wellington from Sydney on April 15. He will visit Palmerston North on April 24 and will be entertained at luncheon by the Palmerston North, Napier, Hastings, Dannevirke, Hawera and New Plymouth Rotary Clubs. That arrangement will enable tlie visitor to leave Palmerston North and reach National Park on Anzac Day.
