MARTON, March 11. The annual meeting of the Alarton Golf Club was held last week. Air F. J. Christensen being the chairman. The officers appointed for the year were as follows: —President, Air Christensen ; club captain, Air C. Al. Holdaway; committee, Alessrs L. Coleman, L. AV. Frank, B. Cochran, F. A. Ful-lert-on-Smith and Dr. R. A. Church; secretary and treasurer, Air Al. N. Atkinson; auditor, Air N. D. Anderson. Tho date of opening the greens was left to the committee. He referred to the meritorious work the recipient had done for the lodge during her term of office, and at all times. Sis. Fowler thanked the lodge for the gift. Old Boys had a decisive four-point win over Hunterville at cricket on Saturday, and Porewn accounted for Alarton by an innings, the margin between the two leading teams in the Rangitikei competition being narrowed considerably as a result.
