General Von Schleicher and Herr Von Bradow, who were executed in the June purge, have been formally vindicated. General Von Mackensen, presiding at a meeting of 200 generals, read out a list of high officers who had died in the past twelve months The War Minister had authorised the inclusion of the names ot General Von Schleicher and Herr Von Bradow, who are now declared to have “fallon like soldiers, their honour untainted.”
Commencing in June last, and ex tending into July, a “purge” of the Nazi leaders was carried out by Herr Hitler. By July 2, when a. halt was called, 200 were in gaol and 17 bad been executed. General Von Schleicher, who had been prominent in German politics since 1929 and was a member of Herr Von Papon’s Cabinet in 1932, was shot dead while resisting arrest. Some time ago a. spirited demand was made by the generals to General Goering to'vindicate the honour of 'on Schleicher.
