SIR MALCOLM CAMPBELL.
HOPES TO IMPROVE RECORD. DAYTONA BEACH, March 10. Sir Malcolm Campbell flatly refused the request by British friends and his associates to give up further speed trials. A message from Lord Rothermere referred to the calamitous risks involved, saving that Britain cannot afford to lose so gallant a sportsman. Sir Malcolm Campbell said: I fully realise the risks. I will make no further attempts unless the beach P.nd weather conditions improve considerably. I am staying here 10 days, hoping that the tide will turn.
