ROYAL ARCH CHAPTER U.A.O.D. The 13th annual meeting of the Royal Arch Chapter, No. 10, was held on Saturday night, R.A.D. Bro. H. R, Hughes presiding over probably the largest attendance yet seen at an R.A.C. meeting, there being some fifty past officers present, in addition to Chapter of Instruction members. A number of apologies were received from members who were unavoidably absent, including the Grand Secretary (Bro'. J. Laughton) and P. Treas. T. A. Mol-, lison, "Wellington. The R.A.D .welcomed the visitors, expressing the Chapter’s appreciation for so large a number having travelled such distances to attend the meeting. The visitors included Past Grand President Bro. A. Bailev, Canterbury Grand Lodge; the R.A.D. and officers of Chapters No. 4 Wellington, No. 2 Levin. No. 3 Wanganui; also Past Officers from Pahiatua and Hawera lodges. The report, presented by the R.A.D . showed a continued interest being displayed by members, and the holding of meetings on special nights was justified. The balance-sheet was received and adopted, and proved the financial side to he in a strong position, there being a good credit balance and no liabilities.

The election of officers, which was keenly contested, resulted as follows R.A.D. Bro. A. H. Lowndes ; R.V.A., Sis. M. Lennox; R Treas., Bro. G. B. Hansen (re-elected); R.Sec., Bro. E. W. Karlssbn; P.P., Bro. H. R. Hughes. The installation of officers then took place, P.R.Sec. Bro. H. S. Abel (Wellington) being the installing officer, assisted by P.P. Bro. H. Fisher as M.O. ■Appreciation of the splendid manner in which the 1.0. carried out his duties was expressed in a vote of thanks. At the invitation of the R.A.D., officers of Chapter No. 3 Wanganui took the chairs for the purpose of initiating a new member, R.A.D. A. E. Edwards presiding. Bro. Edwards and R.V.A, Bro. E. J. Orchard being accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their splendid rendering of the ritual. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the visitors. Replying to the vote of thanks, Bro. Abel congratulated the chapter on its financial position, and expressed pleasure in being present at so large a gathering. Bro. Edwards similarly replied, as did also representatives of all visiting chapters and other visitors. Past Grand President Bro. Bailey was then called on by Bro. Abel to make presentations of P.P. jewels on the latter’s behalf to P.P. Sis. G. Osman, and I.P.P. Bro. H. R. Hughes, Bro. Hughes replying on behalf of Sis. Osman and himself. At the conclusion of the meeting all present sat down to supper served by the entertainment committee, and an hour’s social chat brought an enjoyable meeting to a close, the visitors leaving for their destinations at a late hour.
