The weather was ideal for shooting on the open range on Saturday afternoon, and good scores were registered by members of the Rangitikei Defence Rifle Oiub in. championship shoots over 800 and 900yds., as follows: —P. Thorby, 49 —49—97; J. B. Robins, 49 —45—94 ; D. Lundy, 45 —46—91; N. Amon, 47—44 —91; F. Simpson 47—44 91; L. Huddleston, 44 —46—90; G. M. Broughton, 49 —41 —90: H. Meads, 47 42 89; K. W. Dalrymple, 48 —40—88; A. W. Arhon, 42—37—79. Next Saturday a championship shoot will be fired over the 300, 500 and 600 yards ranges. # . . During the week-end three rinks visited St. John’s W.M. Club, and after an interesting and enjoyable series of games honours were held by St. John’s, whoso players won on. the aggregate by five points. A return game will be played at Bulls in a fortnight. Saturday’s games on the Bulls bowling green resulted : —Ellery, Perrett, Caldow 19 beat Pearce, Dwyer, Drew 1.8; Simpson, Ingram 28 beat Ede, Waker 16.
