The question of motorists speeding past tho school was discussed, but it was decided to hold this matter over in the meantime. A report was received from tho . headmaster regarding tho environment of the school; all his recommendations were adopted and considerable improvements are to be made to the grounds. Accounts wore pasted for payment.

The recent rain ended one of the driest seasons on record. Stock were showing signs of losing condition and generally the outlook was gloomy. However, pastures are showing signs of recovery. Should the weather not become too cold, a plentiful supply of feed is assured for tho winter months. Mr John Thessinan, of Wellington, has been visiting his parents, Mr and Mrs A. Thessman. Mr W.
