FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
Tho usual meeting of the Acorn Lodge of Druids was held on Friday at the Coronation Hall, Terrace End. A.D. Bro. L. W. Ayers presided over a good attendance of members. Three new members were initiated into the order. P.A. Bro. Gulliver reported attending the meeting of the Manawatu United Friendly Societies’ Hospital Association. Bro. Gulliver resigned from the position ns delegate to the Hospital Association, and P.A. Bro. Drake was elected to fill his place. It was decided invite the Oroua Lodge to send' a team to debate any given subject at the next meeting of thei Acorn Lodge. Acorn will contest tho ritual at the next meeting of Oroua Lodge. A cordial welcome was extended to Bro. R. A. Dunn, of Northern Oak Lodge, of Dargaville. A vote of thanks was passed to the visitors and the lodge closed with the usual pleasant supper arranged by the stewards.
