LEVY ON BEEF.
PROPOSED BRITISH PLAN. LONDON, March 1. Mr W. E. Elliot (Minister of Agriculture) addressing Glamorganshire farmers, indicated the possibility of a levy on all imported beef. A similar measure, he said, had worked satisfactorily in connection with wheat. Negotiations were proceeding regarding its application to beef.
