THE KING’S JUBILEE.

HOLIDAY IN AUSTRALIA. The Federal Cabinet lias decided to suggest to the State Governments that the jubilee of the King’s, accession should be formally marked in Australia by the declaration of May 0, the date of the anniversary, as a public holiday throughout Australia. It is proposed that if this proposal is adopted, the public holiday normally celebrated to mark the King’s birthday should be omitted this year. The opinions of each of the State Governments will be sought on the proposal, and, if the necessary concurrence is given, steps to fix the holiday will be taken.
