RIDER BY JURY.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 12. In finding Robert Richard Aiistice, aged 49, single, guilty of a serious offence against a six-year-old girl who was bathing on the beach at Devouport, the jury at the Supreme Court to-day added a rider that legislation should be introduced to provide for the sterilisation of guilty parties in cases of indecent assault upon little girls. The Judge, in intimating that tlm recommendation would be forwarded to the proper authorities, said: “You might be interested to know that this man lias been previously convicted.” Sentence was deferred.
