PAHIATUA EWE FAIR.

A GOOD SALE. Per Press Association. PAHIATUA, Feb. 12. Farmers of the Pahiatua distiict were all smiles yesterday after the annual ewe fair. A heavy yarding of 18,000 attracted an unusually large bench of buyers considering the dry season and the shortage of grass, and prices were remarkably good. Sheep came forward m splendid quality and condition, the top line of two-tootlis ewes realising 31s 9d. Another batch of 245 brought 295. Fouryear ewes realised 23s lOd and fiveyear 21s 3d. These prices represent a n advance of several shillings on the recent sales in surrounding districts and in the general opinion it was the best sale in the Wellington province this season. . , The chief buyers were from the Manawatu, Taranaki and "Wanganui, one lot of 1000 going as far as Te Awamutu.
