CANADIAN WHEAT.

PRICES AT WINNIPEG. MONTREAL, Jan. 16. “We are not interested in July futures,” Mr John I. McFarland, general manager of the Central Selling Agency of Canadian Wheat Pools, stated when commenting on a slump in prices to-day on the Winnipeg Grain Exchange. “All our interests are in May. The price is pegged at 80 cents. It will stay there. Our purchases are for May delivery. We are going to take delivery then.” He was referring to wheat purchases in his operations carried on with a guarantee to banks by the Dominion. May closed at 80J cent and July 81J cents.
