That it no such instructions were given, the association be asked to say what steps were taken by the selector to judgo tile merits of the country players, whose ability warrants their consideration for selection in Plunket Shield teams.” “That, in view of the non-inclusion of country players in the Wellington Plunket Shield teams this year, the New Zealand Cricket Council be asked to state what steps will be taken by the New Zealand selectors to judge the merits of country players whose ability warrants their consideration for selection in the New Zealand team to visit England. The chairman (Mr R. M. Chadwick) said that the Hawke’s Bay' Cricket Association had a perfect right to ask why this treatment had been meted out to country players. All members were unanimous tliaf if the Wellington association had tho interest of cricket at heart, the play ■ ers of minor associations would receive better consideration.
