FOXTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Nov. 20. On the Shannon tennis courts on Saturday, Foxton beat Shannon by 10 sets and 114 games to 6 set and 90 games. Mr H. H. Ilornblow, of Frankton, is on a visit to Foxton. The friends of Mr G. Rough, senr., will regret to learn that lie is confined to his bed. Shortly before midday yesterday, Dr E. M. Wyllie found Mr Adam Craig, an old man, dead in his wharo in Whittaker Street. Deceased had suffered with heart trouble for some time and had recently boon under tho care of the doctor. Mr Craig had been a resident of Foxton for the past ton years, but little was known about him. A further game for the Haydock Pins was played on tho bowling green on Saturday, when Kenney and Huntley (skip) lost to the holders, Thomas and Rooro (skip) by 36 points to 17. At die Women’s Institute’s monthly meeting Mrs F. Proctor was in tho chair. A competition for the best fruit squares was won by Mrs Blytli, Mrs Proctor being second. The best cheapest Christmas gift competition was won by Mrs Blyth and Mrs Proctor second. Mrs.T. Symons gave a demonstration on cake icing. The hostesses were Mosdames Short, Richardson, Thomas, McPhail, McEwan, Thompson, Ross, Spoirs and Miss Heath.
