The Sandon cricketers played Feilding B at Kowhai Park on Saturday. The ground was in good order and a very enjoyable game ended in a two-point win for Sandon. The local Rifle Club officially wound up the season with a dance on Friday night. There was a fair attendance and a happy time was spent. Competitions were as follow :—Monte Carlo waltz, Miss Frecklington and Mr M. Pearce; lucky Gay Gordons, Miss Z. Bishop and Mr E. Lumsden ; Monte Carlo waltz. Miss Hart and Mr Cottingham; lucky numbers, Mr H. Ellery and Ml- K. G. Lumsden. Extras were contributed by Mrs N. Butler and Mr Speight. At a convenient interval, the secretary (Mr Ken Pearce) apologised for the absence of Mr J. Fagan, president of the club, and Mr A. K. Drew, president of the association. Ho called on Mr 11. Ellery, president of tho Ohakca Club, to hand out the trophies won during the year. Mr Ellery expressed pleasure at being present and congratulated the club and members on the success they had attained. Those who received trophies were as follow, each being greeted with applause : N.Z.
