PERMANENT SECRETARIAT.

POWER SUPPLY AUTHORITIES. Proposals for the establishment of a permanent secretariat were brought before the Maiiawatu-Oroua Power Board, yesterday afternoon, by the Power Boards and Supply Authorities’ Association. It was considered that this activity, if effectively attained to ensure continuity in the work, would involve an expenditure of from £ISOO to £2OOO per annum. It was proposed to call, in various districts, a local conference of groups of neighbouring supply authorities to discuss the establishment of a central continuous organisation.

Messrs C. G. C. Dermer (chairman) and N. Campbell were appointed as the hoard’s delegates to attend the first meeting to be held in Wellington to discuss the matter.
