IMPROVED POSITION.
POWER BOARD FINANCES.
Air K. W. Eglinton (managingsecretary) of the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board reported to to-day’s meeting of the board that for the halfyear the board’s position was much Letter than at the same period last year. This was accounted for by the reduction in interest, increased sales, and the improvement in the power purchased compared with revenue received. . The sales of current increased by £3051 12s lid and the cost of current increased by £7BO. , The debit balance at September 30, 1933 was £3546 17s Id and the credit balance this year was £B9O 12s 9d. Sales of current for the previous six months had aggregated £40,215 Is 6d, as against £37,163 8s 7d for the same period last year, an increase of £3051 12s lid. Collections for the month for installations and sales had totalled £317 8s 6d, there still being £4472 10s 2d outstanding under this heading.
