MILSON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) MILSON, Nov. 11.

The quarterly meeting of the Mibon Progressive Association was held in the hall to-day, the chairman (Mr J. C. A. Donaldson) presiding. An apology for unavoidable absence was tendered on behalf of Air G. Richmond. Advice was received from the railway foreman of works that no labour was available to remove the association’s shed from the corner of Carlisle Street to the hall site. Arrngements are being made to transfer the shed. A demand for rates was received from the Kairanga County Council in respect of the section on which the hall is built. As the hall and section are owned by the Railway Department, it was decided to write to the General .Manager asking for a ruling as to whether rates are payable on this property'. Members were of the opinion that the present method of obtaining and distributing shingle for paths and yards of departmental houses was very costly, and resolved to apply,to the General Manager to have the paths and yards asphalted to avoid the recurring cost of maintenance. In regard to extra seating accommodation for the hall, the chairman and the secretary were appointed to go into the matter and were given authority to take any action necessary. Accounts amounting to 11s 6d wore passed for payment. The quarterly' balance-sheet Was presented by the secretary.
