CHRISTIAN SCIENCE CHURCHES.
"Adam and Fallen Man,” was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday. The Golden Text was from John 3:31: "He that cometh from above is above all; he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth.” Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon were the following from the Bible: "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.” "Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?” (Gen. 1:27, Isa. 2:22). Also the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures’’ by Mary Baker Eddy: "All that is made is the work of God, and all is good. Wo leave this brief, glorious history of spiritual creation (as stated in the first chapter of Genesis) in the hands of God, not of man, in the keeping of Spirit, not matter, joyfully acknowledging now and for ever God’s supremacy, omnipotence, and omnipresence. Man reflects God; mankind represents the Adamic race, and is a human, not a divine, creation.” (pp. 521, 525).
