SOCIAL FUNCTIONS. Mrs P. Hanlon, of College Street, gave a bridge party recently for Miss Beryl Oakley, the Garrison Band queen candidate. Those present were; Mesdames R. Davis, Trask, Misses Oakley, M. Long, Wehvood, M. Rogers, N. Raven, Messrs Triggs, Landford, J. Hanlon, S. Cumming, and Strange. An evening party for Miss Oakley was given by Mr and Mrs S. J. Parkes, “Parklands,” Main Street, 19 tables for auction bridge being occupied. The prizewinners were: Highest score, lady, Mrs G. Wickes; gentleman, Mr G.
