NEW FRENCH COINS.
OF HEAVY WEIGHT
The Paris correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says: “Visitors to France will find new five-franc coins of pure nickel with a diameter of more than an inch. Hie only objection to the new coins is the weight, and large leather purses are being speedily manufactured. The Government is minting gold coins representing 100 francs, it is reported, to the amount of £13.300,000, but is withholding them from circulation.
