WOMEN’S DIVISION.

FEILDING BRANCH.

Mrs Prouse presided at the monthly meeting of the Feilding branch of the AVomen’s Division of *?ie Farmers’ Union yesterday afternoon, a good number of meml>ers being present. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs H. Bennett, Mrs Booth, Mrs Gavigan, Mrs Simpson, Airs Taylor and Mrs Port.

Airs N. Ferguson and Miss Alavo were two new members elected.

Aloiions of sympathy were passed to Airs F. Biliman and Miss Pearce in tlieir bereavements.

A letter of sympathy in her illness is to bo sent to Airs R. Taylor, who i= in a private hospital in Palmerston North. The secretary’s report showed that eight housekeepers had been employed in this district during October. Mrs Foster gave an account of the meeting of the- provincial executive he’d in Wanganui recently. It was decided to work the housekeeping scheme for this provincial district with headquarters in Palmerston North, instead of Wellington, Airs AA 7 . I’. Field, of Palmerston North, being the secretary. I Jt was decided to hold a garden party at the residence of All's Hockon, Colvton. on December 5. tbo proceeds of which will be for the community chest fund. A social afternoon for Airs Foster was arranged for November 16, and nil members were asked to attend.

Airs Celqiihoun was appointed convener of a social committee to take charge of all social meetings of the division.
