WEDDING.
PILGRIM—SOUTHEE. A pretty wedding was solemnised at the Cuba Street Methodist Church on Saturday last, when Beatrice, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Soutliee, of Makerua Plains, was married to Edward, second son of the late Mr and Mrs F. N. Pilgrim, of Poverty Bay, the ceremony being performed by Rev. H. L. Richards. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a simple frock of creme crinkled satin. The bodice had a line of niching from the neck to the waistline, and puff sleeves, while the skirt was slim-fitting to the knee where _it flared in graceful folds. Long silk gloves, white satin shoes, tulle veil and orange blossoms completed her toilet. Her bouquet was of white roses, lily of the valley, columbine and maidenhair fern. Supporting her was Miss Elizabeth Jane Soutliee, her sister, who was attired in apple-green organdie with fawn trimming. She wore a felt hat and shoes to tone and carried a bouquet of roses and Iceland poppies of pale shades. Mr Leslie Soutliee, brother of the bride/ carried out the duties of best man. Later, a reception was held at Messrs Collinson and Cunningliame’s. Mrs Southee received ■ her guests, dressed in navy crinkle crepe with fawn trimmings and navy straw hat. She carried a posy of pink roses. Mrs R. Southee, of Wellington, the bride’s grandmother, wore a black sealskin coat, black satin frock and straw hal to tone. She carried a posy in apricot shades, all the bouquets and posiei being the artistic work of Mrs M Clatworthy, aunt of the bride, The young couple left for the soutl on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in grey crinkled crepe with whit< trimmings/ grey hat, shoes and stockings to tone. She carried a summei coat of pale grey and handbag tc match. They will make their future home at Makerua Plains.
