WAR BUOY’S FINE RECORD.

According to an Australian exchange there is no possibility of Walla Walla again paying a visit to New Zealand. After his racing in Melbourne he will bo definitely retired to the stud. When War Buoy won tho Victoria Handicap at Addington on Tuesday, it was his ninth success in as many starts. He has never been beaten, and although only four years old has won £2085. As a two-year-old ho won the Advance Handicap and the New Zealand Sapling Stakes, which carried with it a stake of £s2s—his richest prize to date. As a throe-year-old he won the Hastings Handicap, the Derby Trial, the New Zealand Derby Stakes (£500) and the Autumn Handicap, while this season his successes have been gained in tho Trial Handicap, tho Bollard Handicap, and the Victoria Handicap.

INDIANAPOLIS. CAREER OF CUP WINNER. Indianapolis, the New Zealand Trotting Cup winner of 1934, is fast building up a remarkable record. At three years ho lowered the two-mile record for a pacer of that age to 4 min 23 l-ssee, while as a four-year-old he won the Craven Handicap at Addington in the record time of 2.37 for a mile and a quarter, since lowered by Harold Logan. In this, his fifth season, he set a new record of 4min 20soc for one of his age, and now he has established fresh figures for the New Zealand Cup, and a world’s track record for the two miles. The first mile was run in 2min 13sec, which is handicap speed at 4min 26sccs for two miles and Indiana.polis went Ins last mile in 2min 3 3-Ssec, and the last half mile in 59 4-ssecs. Again yesterday Indianapolis established another record when he won the Christchurch Handicap to establish a two-mile race winning record for New ZeaIndianapolis was bred at Durbar Lodge, Canterbury, and is by Wrack _by Estelle Amos, both of whom were bred in America.

Wrack (2.23) was got by Peter the Great, sire of 583 standard performers, and whoso son Peter Volo (2.2) has sired six twominute performers. Wrack was a noted performer in tho States, and was capable of pacing half a mile in 58sccs. Estelle Amos belongs to the Axworthy family, being by Dale Axworthy, a son of Axworthy, from Arlcigh 11., by Nutwood Wilkes. It was after winning his first race that Indianapolis was sold to Mr G. J. Barton, of Dunedin, for 3JGOO and contingencies, and flint sportsman has at last succeeded in winning the Dominion’s most important event. As a two-year-old he won £240, but in his next season his stake earnings advanced to £1282. Still better things were in store, for as a four-year-old lie won £1720 —a total which .lie has already exceeded this season. The rich prize of £IOOO and a cup valued at £IOO brings his total for the prosent term to £1825 and his grand total earnings to £5067. Ho has thus been a great stake winner for Mr Barton.
