PIPE BAND STALL.
From an early hour this morning the north-western corner of the Square presented a busy and colourful scene when a “kilties” stall was conducted by a strong band of ladies in support of the candidature of Miss June Scott in the queen carnival. The ladies supervising the sale of goods of all descriptions and conducting corn netit ions were Mesdames A. S. Cooper, M. Scales, D. Duckworth, W. Smith, W. Allan, J. Morrison and H. Newson, while members of the Pipe Band in their gay uniforms, boys in tartan and Scout uniforms; and other male helper* were superintending the laying out of a copper trail and disposing of badges, etc.
