VALUABLE ORDER FOR BRITISH FIRM.

FLOOD PROTECTION WORKS IN GREECE.

Messrs Henry Boot and Sons, Ltd., public works contractors, of Sheffield, have been invited by the Government of Greece to construct flood protection works of Kephuios, in Boeotia. Mr Charles Boot, principal of the company, recently arranged extensive contracts with the Greek Government, totalling £2,250,000, in Boeotia, Thessaly, Epirus, and Crete. Sir Boot stated in September that a considerable quantity of English much inery would be required for excavation and other purposes. There would be extensive irrigation work to be done, and canals to be cut. The work would take two years to complete. A staff of engineers lias left London for Thessaly, and the inauguration of the works took place at the end .of September. Several members of the Greek Government, including the Prime Minister and the Minister of Communications, promised to travel to J liessaly for the ceremony.
