THE GALLIPOLI LANDING.
A COMMEMORATION STAMP. SUGGESTION FROM DUNEDIN. Per Press'Association. DUNEDIN, Nov. 8. The secretary of the Dunedin branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association has made the suggestion that the twentieth anniversary of the landing of New Zealand troops at Gallipoli should be marked on April 25 of next year by the issue of a special commemorative stamp. . The rising generation, he said, did not realise the significance of the part that New Zealanders had taken in the Great War. To-day many of the men were breaking down as the result of the strain to which they had been subjected, and the issue of such a stamp might perhaps draw public attention to what was due to them. The suggestion was favourably received by the members and it was decided to forward it on to headquarters.
