PAHIATUA.
PAHIATUA , Nov. 8. The Band of Hope met last evening, Mrs H. Paterson presided, and there were about one hundred present. The address was given by Mrs Paterson, who based her talk on the text, “Wine is a mocker.” A prize was presented to Phyllis Stone, who had brought the most new members to the Band of Hope during the year. Vocal items were given by Mrs K. A. Bick and by Miss E. Chatwin. The following children also gave items: Thelma Stokes, Ngaire Williams, Verna Hewat, Lorna Pratt Marjorie Stokes, Doreen Robinson George Paget, Betty Robinson. Ida Pearcey, Eileen Rutherford, Ream Kershaw Alec Thomson, Jean Br.tland, May ’ Britland, Betty Fowke Norma Hewat Jean Watson, Dorothy Bick. Marjorie Wallis, Joy Kershaw and Peggy Paget. At the conclusion or tlie meeting supper was served.
