(From Our Own Correspondent.) WOODVILLE. Nov. 8. The Drama Circle of the Women s Institute presented three one act plays to a large and appreciative audience at the Parish Hall. Those taking part in the first production were Mesdamcs Hartridge and Jaine, Misses W. Cairns, R. Grinlinton, G. Blatchford, arid N. Gilbert. “Keep Calm” was an hilarious comedy and was well received by tho audience. The players were Mrs H. McNeil, Misses Gross and J. Kirkpatrick, and Messrs J. Sinclair, F. De Malmanchc, and L. Hurley. Those fulfilling roles in the “Hat and Stick” were Misses Jaine and Misses N. Gilbert, R. Grinlinton, W. Cairns, G. Blatchford, M. Mules, and J. Kirkpatrick. During the intervals between the plays an orchestra played popular airs, and Miss Avis Arrow rendered pianoforte solos.

The Woodville Women’s Institute met this week, Mrs Burnett presiding. Four new members were welcomed. Mrs H. Gilus, an delegate, gave a comprehensive report ol the halt yearly council meeting of the Bush YVairarapa 1* ederation field at Eketaluma. Items were rendered by the Glee Circle under tile leadership of Airs J. McCormick. This circle, with the Drama and Folk Dancing Circles, is to compete at the tedoration festival at Tahiatua. A small collection ot old treasures was shown, which included a line old sampler, and a- most up propiaato recitation entitled "A Sampler,” was given by Mrs A. S. Hutching. Members welcomed Mra Harrison, ol rahiatua, who gave a demonstration on the making of novelties suitable tor Christmas presents. The competition tor a soft toy was won by Mrs A. E. James, Mrs Forbee gaining second place. The entries arc to bo handed to a children's home. Totatoos were distributed to be grown for the federation trophy contest. 'lhc Papatawa Women’s Institute met recently. Mrs Martin being in the chair. The competition was a mason jar of flowers lor botii sonioie and juniors, lheio weie many beautiful entries. The prizes were won by: Seniors, Mrs E. Cunningham and Miss McKay (equal) 1; juniors, Miss Jean Bradley 1, Miss J. Gilhert 2. Miss J. Bradley won honours for the afternoon, as her jar of arum lilies was specially noted by the judges as being the best in both classes. The judges were Mrs Grant, Mrs Harker, and Mrs J- NeLon. A demonstration of bouquet-making was given by Mis Munro and Mrs C. Cunningham. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Thorne, Misses D. and L. Hutchison. A community sing followed, Mrs J- S. Nelson presiding at the piano. The two bouquets made were presented to Mrs Martin and Mrs Dickms.
